THE FACE BEHIND THE BRAND
"Who is this chick?" you may be asking yourself.
Hi, my name is Melissa Boyd - I am originally from Nova Scotia but moved to Vancouver in March 2022. After living in Calgary for 8 years, I realized I missed the ocean and eventually my husband and I moved to the west coast where we fell in love with the lifestyle. Raising our little girl in a city with nature at the core of it is something that makes my soul happy.

In October 2022 I gave birth to our daughter and later experienced postpartum depression during the biggest transition of my life. I was so lucky to have an amazing support system, but what I learned was that mental health does not discriminate. It doesn't wait for a convenient time, it doesn't target a specific race or gender or religion. It affects everyone. As I learned about PPD/PPA and other mental health struggles I became very passionate about building something that creates a positive change in our community.

During this journey, through the books and resources I read, the podcasts I listened to, the friends and family I spoke with and the inspirational instagram pages I followed (lol), there seemed to be a common theme in "happy" people: they had balance in their mental and physical health - often through some form of movement and daily meditation. But, I believe you need to divvy it up even further than that. I believe once you find the balance that works for you in what I like to call your "four pillars", you'll build a healthy life you love and feel fulfilled by. These "four pillars" are your physical health, your mental health, your emotional health and your spiritual health.

I invite you on this journey to look to where you need more balance in your life, build habits to support that and engage in building a community who supports you along the way.
